About Tedford

Tedford Housing is a nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness in midcoast Maine.  We are a 501(c)(3) organization, as determined by the Internal Revenue Service.

More importantly, we are the primary provider of shelter and services to the homeless in midcoast Maine.  Located in Brunswick, our catchment area includes all of Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties, Cumberland county south to Freeport and Androscoggin county north to Lisbon.  While preference is given to people from our catchment area, anyone in need can seek shelter at Tedford.

Tedford relies on private donors for a significant part of ourchild's drawing of a house budget.  Individuals, companies, and other organizations in our local community provide the majority of those donations.  Donations account for almost a quarter (23%) of our annual budget, topped only by government sources, which account for 58% of our budget.  The United Way and foundations provide 10.4% and 7% respectively, leaving the remaining 2% of our budget to be raised through fundraisers or other income sources.

Tedford Housing has undergone major changes in the past two years, from a structural reorganization to adding several new programs.  We anticipate new services and programs in the future, and look forward to the challenges in the years ahead.
